SafeAir® MRI Room Oxygen Monitor: Critical Protection for MRI Environments
The SafeAir® system is designed to provide rapid warning of depleted oxygen levels within the MRI scan room, ensuring the immediate safety of all personnel and patients in the event of a gas leak. Capable of continuous sampling from single or multiple locations, the unit integrates directly with extraction systems to automatically trigger ventilation if oxygen levels drop below the normal 21% concentration.
Key Benefits
- Zero Downtime Installation: The unit is simple to fit—either during construction or retrofitted afterwards—and does not require the scanner to be ramped down.
- Automated Response: Internal contacts allow for the automatic activation of MRI room ventilation systems the moment an alarm sounds.
- Interference Free: The monitor is installed in the control room with a plastic tube passed through the waveguide, meaning no RF filtration is required.
- Clear & Reliable Alerts: Features distinct visual and audible alarms with a user-friendly touch panel for history and calibration.
Built to the Highest Safety Standards
The SafeAir® system is designed and manufactured in the UK to meet rigorous safety protocols. It is fully compliant with the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU and Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU, ensuring it meets the highest demands of modern MRI facilities.
Proven Technology
At the heart of the SafeAir® system is the advanced MySign® O2 monitor from Envitec, a Honeywell Company. Utilizing the industry-standard OOM111 medical oxygen fuel cell sensor, this technology ensures precision monitoring. The system features automatic self-testing and straightforward calibration to guarantee reliable detection of oxygen depletion. A HEPA based filtration system ensures extended life of the O2 sensor.
